I turned 30 yesterday, and it was a pretty good day. Boyfriend really surprised me with these-
They're Edwardian repros, made of platinum and peridot with diamond accents. LOVE. THEM. And am very excited to have a second pair of earrings! I can only wear platinum in my ears, which sucks, because I love earrings! I was given a pair of diamond studs from Ad for my 25th, and I wear them all the time. I'm beyond excited to have a second pair to wear!
Not really sure how I feel about being 30. I'm sure as hell not where I thought I'd be right now. The fact that all my friends are pregnant is a somewhat painful reminder of this, though I am very happy for all of them. But, all things considered, I am determined to think of all I have, and not everything I've lost. I have amazing friends and family, and a lot of love in my life.

My friend assures me that Cosmo (that paragon of philosphy and insight )states that 40 is the new 30. Therefore, if 40 is the new 30 - 30 MUST by definition be the new 21.

I have a little time on you - I will be 35 this fall, and I can completely empathize. The good thing is (and maybe this is just early-onset senility) I sometimes forget how old I am. Someone will ask and I will honestly say, "30." No one has called me on it yet ;)
Those earrings are absolutely gorgeous! I love peridot and platinum and diamonds. Someone has exquisite taste.

Thanks, everyone!! There's a party for me today. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in ages- a lot of people I know through Adam and new friends I've made with Rupert. So... very exciting. I'm baking a cake now- it's also my sister's birthday- we're 2 years apart, both May 10. :)
