A mosaic mirror. My first big project. I used abalone, stones(sodalite, rose quartz, turquoise), sea glass, stained glass, and other bits of glass. I'm happy with it, and feeling hooked on mosaic!
My next project is a birdbath, a rather large undertaking- I'll post some photos when I can. Hope you like it. It was made as a gift for boyfriend, who gave me the first round of classes as part of my 30th birthday gift. He rocks, and therefore, he gets a mirror.

It's simply gorgeous! How does one go about making a mosaic mirror?
Rupert gave me a series of 4 classes for my birthday. First class I made a coaster- learned how to cut glass and how to cut tile, how to fit shapes together, etc...
I went for a pretty big project for my second project (first one was a coaster)- most people do light switch covers or trivets, but I jumped into the large mirror.
The class supplied the materials, but you can get them at different shops. After everything is cut and glued into place, you apply grout, then wipe the grout off, then you need to go around with a little teeny screwdriver and scrape the excess grout off of the glass and whatnot.
Then you windex the hell out of it, and voila! Mirror!
I thought I'd be horrid at it, but I'm pretty happy with it, for s first project.
